Kravet x DI Day of Learning: Celebration of Design Innovation and Collaboration

December 19, 2025 | DI In the News

In collaboration with Kravet, DI hosted a full-day event this November that brought together students, alumni, and faculty with leading voices in the design industry for an inspiring experience filled with educational sessions, panel discussions, and networking. This event was designed to spark creativity, share knowledge, and foster meaningful conversations—and it delivered on every front.

The Day of Learning program featured a dynamic lineup of professional presentations including “Benjamin Moore Color of the Year 2026”, “Performance Fabrics and Sustainability”, “A Journey Through Textiles”, which showcased some of Kravet’s exclusive archival fabrics, and lectures on topics such as “Fabric to Frame” and “Evolution of Window Treatments”.

Notable Designers Sharing Their Expertise

Our panels featured renowned designers and creative professionals who generously shared their insights with students and alumni:

  • Alexandria Ott (Chrome City Creative Studio) moderated “It’s All in the Packaging — Building Your Brand”, joined by Rachel CrawfordBrian Brown, and Kilian Camp
  • Rachel Moriarty (Moriarty Interiors) led “Hear It from the Experts — How to Create Your Clients’ Unique Space”, with panelists Michael Roy, Treci Smith, and Kristy Kropat
  • Rick Campos (Design Biz Survival Guide Podcast) hosted “Design Firsts — Advice to Emerging Designers”, featuring Margya BrandLaura AbramsJaki Yermian, and Kelly Hinchman

These conversations offered practical advice and inspiration, bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world design practice. Students, alumni, and faculty alike have shared how impactful these sessions were, and the knowledge and connections made during this event will resonate for a long time.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Kravet team and all presenters and panelists who made this day possible. Your expertise and generosity created an amazing learning opportunity for our community. A special thank you to our sponsors – Benjamin Moore, Crypton, and Irichka Custom Draperies.
