Here's what sets us apart...
  • SPECIALIZED CURRICULUM TAUGHT BY PRACTICING PROFESSIONALS

At DISD our specialty is providing a valuable professional education in interior design. Students are educated by working faculty, who are current in their careers and who practice what they teach. Our students are taught the skills and expertise needed to excel in all of the creative and technical aspects of today’s interior design industry. Design classes start in the first semester and students are taught to think and design globally, sustainably, and critically. Students are offered a variety of options from day and evening classes to a 3- year fast track transfer program. Because our campus is small, students have the opportunity to benefit from valuable one-on-one attention and a culture of creative fellowship. Students can also appreciate warm sunshine year round between hands-on classes at our beautiful Southern California location.

  • DAY & EVENING CLASSES AVAILABLE SMALL CLASS SIZES

DISD's creative college environment offers personalized attention and resources. Day and evening courses are offered to allow flexibility for students who cannot attend during the day. A year-round Fast Track Transfer program is designed for transfer students who want to attend classes year round in order to graduate sooner.

Class sizes are small – with the average of 15 students – and ensures productive studio time with an opportunity for faculty to provide individual student engagement.

  • CIDA ACCREDITED BACHELOR OF FINE ARTS DEGREE

CIDA (Council for Interior Design Accreditation) - accredited programs assure the public that interior design education prepares students to be responsible, well-informed, skilled professionals who make beautiful, safe, and comfortable spaces that also respect the earth and its resources. CIDA provides a "quality signal" to students, parents and future employers and identifies a well-rounded and relevant educational program that will appropriately prepare a student for practice of the profession.
