The Kravet Lee Jofa Student Fabric Resource Center at Design Institute is now open for business!

Thoroughly preparing students for the rigors of professional interior design practice is the hallmark of Design Institute of San Diego. Doing it properly sometimes means breaking with tradition.

The problem is that most campus-based resource centers are filled with outdated materials and discontinued fabrics. We recognize our students need more than that.

That's why we've partnered with Kravet Lee Jofa Collection to offer the first campus-based "real time" resource library!

On March 24th, 2010, Design Institute of San Diego administration, faculty and students welcomed industry luminaries to a festive reception celebrating the grand opening of the Kravet Lee Jofa Student Resource Center. Present to help us inaugurate this one-of-a-kind facility in the country were:

  • Elliott Halem - Vice President of Sidney Goldberg and Associates, Inc.
  • Mechele Boatman - California Kravet Outside Sales Representative
  • Jan Pokowski - Sidney Goldberg and Associates, Inc. San Diego Showroom Manager
The day was QUITE an experience for everyone!

This exciting new resource gives DI students an edge in the industry! Using a comprehensive online catalog and the resource center's collection of sample books and catalogs, Design Institute students are able to order current samples and download specifications from such notable interior design collections as Barbara Barry, Candice Olson, Ralph Lauren, Laura Ashley, Calvin Klein Home, Winterthur, Pierre Deux and Kravet's Eco "green" Collection.

"This is merely another example of the thoughtful and specialized curriculum available at Design Institute of San Diego" says Program Director Denise Homme. "By having direct access to one of the largest and most important furnishings resources in the interior design business, students using Design Institute's Kravet Lee Jofa Collection Resource Center will gain practical knowledge while still in school."

"Providing such in-depth industry knowledge so much earlier in a designer's career ensures our students are applying the full range of tools and comprehensive education they need to transition into professional practice and deliver the kinds of results clients have come to expect from DI graduates." she notes.

The Kravet Lee Jofa Student Resource Center is one of the many reasons why students who are serious about a career in interior design choose Design Institute of San Diego!
