- Research Assistance
The DI Library staff is available during Library hours to help students and faculty find the books, magazines, websites, and other resources they need for academic and professional projects. Research assistance is available in person, over the phone, and by email. - Course Reserve Materials
Instructors often place books, films and other materials especially useful in their classes on Course Reserve at the DI Library. These materials may be used in the Library and, in some cases, may be checked out for short periods of time. This ensures that all students in the class have access to these materials throughout the semester. View a list of all Course Reserve items in the Online Catalog. - Computer, Scanner and Internet Access
The Library has a computer for student use with access to the internet, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and an 11x17 flatbed scanner. The DI wireless network is available for students who wish to work on their laptops. - Color Photocopier
The Library has a color Xerox photocopier with options including 11x17 copies, image lightening and darkening, color adjustments, and two-sided copies. Black and white copies are $0.05 per page. Color copies are $0.20 per page. Copy cards can be purchased at the front desk. - Magazine Sales and Giveaways
The DI Library usually has art, architecture and design magazines and product catalogs for students to purchase (5 for $1.00) or take for free. These magazines and catalogs can be cut up for use in projects. - Kravet Resource Center
The Kravet Resource Center is located in the DI Library. It includes current sample books for Kravet fabrics and fixtures. Students may browse the sample books in the Library and order their own free memo samples online. Click here for more information about using the Kravet Resource Center and ordering memo samples.
SERVICES ESPECIALLY FOR FACULTY
- Library Orientations
The DI Librarian can arrange a customized library orientation for your class to familiarize students with the materials and services relevant to your assignments. Please contact the Librarian to set up a convenient time for a class visit. - Course Reserves
You may place books, films and other materials especially useful to your students on Course Reserve at the DI Library. For each item, you may select in-Library use only or a brief check-out period of 2 hours, 1 day, or 2 days. In-Library use and short loan periods ensure that all students in the class have access to these materials throughout the semester. Please contact the Librarian if you would like to place materials on Course Reserve. - Faculty Resource Collection
The DI Library maintains a collection of books and other materials related to teaching and higher education; you can browse this collection online through the DI Library Online Catalog. A list of books particularly recommended for faculty is also available through the Online Catalog.
