Help Shape the Future at Colorado River Day

Did you know that 50% of San Diego's water supply comes from the Colorado River hundreds of miles away? Did you know that San Diegans have an opportunity to help shape the future of the Colorado River? On July 25th, Save The Colorado River campaign will be hosting a lunch event called "Colorado River Day" here in San Diego. July 25th is the day in 1921 when Congress named the river the “Colorado,” and thus its a fitting day to celebrate the river and learn more about saving it.

The event will help educate decision makers about common sense solutions that we can all agree on to restore and protect the Colorado River and San Diego's water supply. It will feature fiscal conservatives and environmental conservationists -- a unique combination of groups who support "conservation" and water efficiency that protects our tax dollars as well as the Colorado River.

Come to Mission Bay Park from noon - 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25. The event is free and includes lunch. Meet at Playa Pacifica hut (first one south after Mission Bay Visitor's Center) to celebrate the first official Colorado River Day!
